As the clock ticks onward to Quakecon

The information on Quake Live begins to trickle out of id Software and the beta continues forward, gamers can look forward to some awesome matches of 1v1 duels and CTF play at QuakeCon 2008.

Check out the video on Game Trailers to check out the upcoming free FPS from id.

As id continues to roll out the beta at QuakeCon, a test of their infrastructure in place for the free ad supported game, more people join the community of pro gamers fragging away, but one of the best innovation for the spiritual successor to Quake III Arena will be Quake Lives match making system. As one of the most pure forms of e-sport, the pure skill and dedication of the whole game from precision movement and strafe jumping, to trick rocket jumping, whilst timing weapons and powerups, all the while dodging rockets waiting to take the one perfect rail shot, however easy and graceful the pros make it seem, Quake can be frustrating and demoralizing if your not in the groove or are facing a veteren player while just learning the game, a full mastery of the game, maps, movement, shooting and strategry are all required to be competitive, but when you have practiced enough the frags are incredibly rewarding.
